How to measure it
Plain yogurt weighs about 245 g a cup, a touch more than milk because the milk solids are concentrated. Stir it smooth before measuring; set yogurt spooned in chunks traps air pockets between the lumps.
Greek yogurt is strained and denser, but only slightly, landing near 250 g a cup. For baking substitutions the same figure covers both. Flavoured and sweetened yogurts carry syrup that pushes them heavier still, so weigh those if the recipe is sensitive.
