How to measure it
Smooth peanut butter runs about 258 g a cup when pressed in properly. It is thick enough to bridge over air pockets, so push it into the cup with a spatula and level the top, or the cup will read full while holding 10 percent less.
Crunchy styles weigh nearly the same. Natural peanut butter that separates should be stirred thoroughly first, because the oily top layer is lighter than the solids underneath. The tidiest method of all: put the mixing bowl on a scale and spoon peanut butter straight in.
Density source: Government food composition data (smooth peanut butter). Method assumed: Smooth style, pressed in to remove air pockets.
